On the 13th of December 2014, the SSP members of the Australian Region gathered at Strathfield Community in Sydney NSW for the Regional Assembly. The regional superior, Fr Ruben Areno, presented the state of the region and the challenges that it faces in the years ahead as we are heading through a crucial transition in the change of governance. Discussions on important issues were raised, and some amendments done; and generally the report was accepted by the Assembly. Afterwards, the election of delegate to the X General Chapter followed. Fr Thomas Abraham Manimalayil was officially elected as the delegate; and Fr Nestor Candado as his substitute.
