On August 24, 2024, the temporary-professed members (Juniors) of the Pauline Family had an encounter at Jesus Good Shepherd School in Imus, Cavite, with the Sisters of Jesus Good Shepherd (Pastorelle) hosting the event. The encounter, the first of two annual events, aims at fostering a deeper sense of family in order to foster collaboration and unity among the different congregations and aggregated institutes. Aside from the host congregation, among those present were the Juniors of the Society of St. Paul, the Daughters of St. Paul, the Pious Disciples of the Divine Master, and the Institute of the Holy Family.

The day began with a talk by Sr. Purisima “Puri” Tañedo, SGBP Provincial Superior, on Bl. James Alberione’s Abundantes Divitiae Gratiae Suae (AD) and its significance for each Pauline. Sr. Puri emphasized the need to be deeply immersed in the charismatic history of the Pauline Family so that it becomes a catalyst to discern the present in view of the future challenges.

A brief sharing and group presentations by the Juniors followed. Toward noontime, Fr. Lawrence de Peralta, SSP presided at the Eucharistic celebration. The Bishop of Imus, Most Reverend Reynaldo Evangelista D.D., likewise visited and stayed for a hearty Filipino lunch. He encouraged the Juniors to continue pursuing the synodal path, of which their encounter was a concrete manifestation.

The afternoon was a celebration of community life, made livelier by “The Amazing Race.” The Juniors, joined by their respective formators, tested their thinking skills, memory retention, and creativity in order to successfully perform and win the various challenges.
